Ben Rickert, a paranoid retired trader, helps two young investors (Charlie and Jamie) get the swaps that let them bet against the housing market. When the crash finally hits he sells their positions from a pub in England, scolding them for celebrating an economy's collapse. The epilogue notes he simply returned to his quiet retirement, alive and grumpy.
Character is based on real trader Ben Hockett. Pitt also produced the film.
