Rival contract killers John and Jane Smith discover they've been married to the enemy and set about killing each other, leveling their suburban house in a shootout. With guns drawn they realize they can't pull the trigger, reconcile, and learn their agencies have ordered both of them dead. They make a last stand in a home-improvement store, mowing down waves of hitmen, and the film ends with the couple back in marriage counseling, beaming about how well things are going.
John takes plenty of punishment from Jane but nothing fatal.
