Detective Frank Harris, a WWII vet stuck in the animated Cool World since 1945, tries to stop Holli Would from escaping into the real world. In the climax atop the Union Plaza Hotel, Holli pushes him off the building to his death. But a 'noid' killed by a 'doodle' in the real world is reborn as a doodle, so Frank returns to Cool World as a cartoon and can finally be with Lonette.
