Middleman Westray, who earlier warned the Counselor about the cartel's 'bolito', a motorized wire loop that tightens until it cuts through the neck, flees to London with his money when the drug deal goes bad. Malkina hires a woman to seduce him and steal his bank codes, then has her men snatch his laptop and drop the bolito over his head on a crowded sidewalk. The device whirs tighter as Westray claws at it and collapses in a spreading pool of blood, and the wire finally severs his head. Malkina drains his accounts and escapes.
One of the most infamous death scenes of the 2010s; the device is foreshadowed in Westray's own earlier monologue.
