Bishop is caught by the Chinese trying to spring his lover Elizabeth Hadley from prison and is scheduled for execution within 24 hours. Retiring mentor Nathan Muir spends his last day at Langley, and his own savings, faking authorization for a Navy SEAL rescue. Bishop and Hadley are lifted out by helicopter, and Bishop realizes Muir saved him when the pilot names the op.
